Connecting to Consumers

Tamron USA makes high-end optical lenses—the kind that only serious photographers buy, when they’re making a commitment and investment in their craft. They wanted to find a way to connect on a deeper level with these consumers, to create a more rewarding, long-term relationship.

Selling Through Retailers

Because Tamron sells its products through retailers, they wanted a mobile program that added value to those resellers—as well as to consumers. So Moblico developed a comprehensive mobile initiative that worked on web, Apple, Android, and social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter. The mobile outlets give consumers a way to get exclusive deals, surveys, newsletters, warranty information, and technical manuals.

Moblico also added a dashboard feature, so that Tamron could monitor and analyze the effectiveness of their communications and special offers. It also allows them to make changes to the program and deploy new ideas on the fly. The result? Consumers have better access to company info directly—and retailers are encouraged to increase their product sales to “high-end hobbyists.”
