Bearing manufacturer SKF (STO: SKFA) Goteborg, Sweden, reported sales for the third quarter of SEK 20.1 billion (US$2.45 billion), up 8.3% over the same period a year ago. Operating profit for the third quarter was SEK 2.67 billion (US$309.9 million).
Sales in North America grew 7.2% compared to the third quarter of last year.
Year to date, sales were SEK 60.7 billion (US$7.04 billion), up nearly 10% over the prior-year period. Operating profit for the first nine months was SEK 8.1 billion (US$939.8 million).
The report follows a strong second quarter for SKF.
